    A very wise person once told me as they held their Bible in their hand, "This book will keep you from sin but also know that sin will keep you from this book..." Have you ever thought about the Bible you possess? Just think about what it says: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." "And the Word became the flesh..." John 1:1-5 & vs 14...
     Wow! The Word! Have you considered the POWER of the Word? The Word of God is "the sword of the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:17).

    To the Christian, the Bible is not just a holy book to be placed on the shelf. It is a mighty weapon to be taken hold of with both hands and used in defeating the enemy. Study it. Memorize it. Determine that you are going to read the Bible every day from now on. You would not expect to lead a healthy physical life unless you ate your meals regularly! Show the same amount of common sense about building up your spiritual life. Daily Bible reading is essential to victorious living and Christian growth! I've challenged our parishioners at Mission Valley Christian Fellowship, as a body, to read the Word of God one hour a day. The power that has been released in our church has been remarkable!

     Three things will happen when you commit yourself to the Word of God daily:
     1. You will have direction in your life!
     Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
     2. You will know truth!
     John 176:17 "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."
     3. You will increase in Faith!
     Romans 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

     So, keep yourself in God's Word as it says in Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."

    Watch what happens in your life as you commit yourself to the Word of God! Your direction in life will increase; knowledge of truth in your life will increase and your faith will increase! The result will be real life!
