Have you ever felt like nothing seems to be going your way? Things just don't look like they are coming together the way you planned? You find yourself living a defeated life?

It's called Discouragement!

Discouragement often is the result when we don’t get our own way or when things don’t work out the way we want them to. The children of Israel thought that because they were God’s children they should be spared adversity and trouble, that The Promise land should be captured without a struggle. But this was not God’s plan. It never is.

Discouragement is the very opposite of believing God and faith. It is Satan’s device to try to destroy the work of God in your life. Discouragement blinds our eyes to the mercy of God and makes us have the wrong perception about God and see only the circumstances and as a result doubt God. There is only one way to pull out of discouragement. It's not counting on your own strength and self-help tactics. If that's the case you are doomed to continued discouragement. But the Bible says, “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14  "Cast your cares and concerns on the Lord for He really cares for you!" 1 Peter 5:8

If you are discouraged today, here are 3 things you can do! 

1. Stop doubting God! Make a statement of faith to believe God in spite of what everything looks like around you!

2. Start thanking God! Thank Him for all He has done in your life! His past faithfulness demands our present trust!

3. Stand strong in God! Stand strong in the power of His might! Ask the Holy Spirit to give you courage! That's right! Courage is the opposite of discouragement. As you take time to wait on God, laying your cares and concerns at His feet, you'll find your courage will be boosted and discouragement will fade!

May God give you great courage today as you put these principles of faith into practice!
