Message from Pastor Leo March 01, 2009 God loves you. You are His child, and He wants to bless you in the same way a perfect and all loving father would bless His child. And nothing, nothing can stop God from blessing you … except you. The question is, “Do you want to be blessed?” The Bible is God’s written promise to you. And in it, God has promised to provide for you, care for you, and protect you. But here’s the situation: many people who call themselves Christians aren’t living like Christians, and they aren’t acting like Christians. So they are not experiencing the blessings of God. Instead, they’re reaping the consequences of living by worldly standards. They’ve placed their trust in the world and are trying to make the system work for them. This is what God wants you to know: Trust in God, not in the
system of the world, and you will be blessed.
Let me say it again. Trust in
God, not in the system - and not even in the “system” of Christianity (as some “name
it and claim it” people try to tell you).
There’s no “fast-track” or “12 steps” to take. It’s all about your relationship with Jesus. It’s one on one. And trusting in God doesn’t just mean believing He’s there. It’s believing what He’s said, and obeying
because of who He is. Do you believe that God is on
the throne, that He’s in control, and that He’s reigning and ruling throughout
the universe? Well, if He is, and if
He’s promised to bless you, who’s going to stop Him? No one, except you, by not believing and obeying. Let me give you a few verses… Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his
commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and
with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the
earth... Deuteronomy 4:40 … fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his
commandments, … that thy days may be prolonged … observe to do it; that it may
be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy
fathers hath promised thee... Deuteronomy 6:2-3 … do that which is right and
good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee… Deuteronomy
6:18 … I set before you this day a
blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your
God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the
commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I
command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. Deuteronomy 11:26-28 Observe and hear all these words
which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children
after thee forever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight
of the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 12:28 God loves you. He wants to bless you, but you have to be obedient. He wants to take care of you, provide for you, and protect you. He wants to do amazing things in your life, but you have to obey His commands. It’s not that hard when you fully realize the blessings He wants to bestow upon you. Do you believe the promises of God? Do you even know what He’s promised? Listen, if you fully understood the promises
of God, and had any idea of the blessings He’s waiting to pour out on your
life, then you’d be living according to His ways. You would be joyfully obeying His commands. So read your Bible. Read your Bible and ask God to open your
eyes to the wondrous treasures and promises He has for you. Read your Bible, obey God, and be blessed. Read your Bible and draw closer to Jesus.
