We need to see life from God’s perspective. How do we do that? We make time for Him. Did you hear that? We make time.
Do you make time to sit and be still before the Lord? I know, there are good things to be done. Just ask Martha. You remember the story…
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10: 38-42
There are always good things that have to be done and there’s work that has to be done. And you need to earn a buck and you need to pay the rent. And you’ve got to fix the car and you’ve got to go to the kid’s soccer game. But, you’ve got to make time for the Lord.
“...couldn’t you watch and pray one hour?” Mark 14:37 One hour? You can’t watch and pray one hour with the Lord so that your heart is strengthened?
Set aside the time. Make the time. Make time for God. And spend that time reading your Bible.
May The Lord Jesus Christ Be Magnified!
